Trail Talk - Let's Talk About Hypnosis

When I tell people that I am a certified hypnotherapist, the reaction is often a nervous giggle accompanied by, "Oh no, I don't want anyone messing with my brain." ~ Lisa Stanley

The risk-takers and more comedic friends are eager to experience it, expecting and maybe even hoping, that I leave them with a crazy idea implanted in their head, like clucking like a chicken every time they drive by a KFC.


I can assure you that hypnosis is not what you see in the movies! You will not reveal your deepest secrets to me and I will not leave you doing anything you don't actually want to do.


And then there are the skeptics and the doubters saying, "Oh, you won't be able to hypnotize me."


Can You Experience Hypnosis?

Here is a checklist for you to consider. If you answer yes to all of these, then hypnosis should be able to work for you.

  1. Have you ever experiences a trance-like state (any of the items below)?

    • daydreamed

    • scrolled through social media

    • watched TV

    • driven somewhere without remembering the drive

    • heard what was going on while you were kind of asleep

  2. Are you able and willing to follow instructions?

  3. Do you have the desire to change and the belief that you can change?

  4. Do you have an imagination?


If you answered yes to all of these questions than hypnosis will work for you!

Dispelling Myths About Hypnosis:


Hypnosis cannot be done to you, you need to give permission and take an active part in the hypnosis by following instructions.


You are not asleep, you will hear what is happening around you and you can come out of it when you want to.


Your unconscious minds primary purpose is to protect you; you will not do anything that would cause harm to yourself.


Your mind will not be under someone's control. You provide the goals of your hypnosis and we put them into suggestions. They are exactly that, you can reject or accept these suggestions and will review them to improve the chance for lasting change.



My Personal Experience


I love being hypnotized. I have found it to be extremely relaxing. And I have had great success with my goals.


In fact, it is because of hypnosis that I was able to start believing that my ideas for Journeys Unlimited were good enough to launch into a new business. I know I can make a positive difference through these methods. The transformation is outstanding and I'm more confident, trust my skills and talents, and feel like nothing can hold me back from my dreams.

When I experience hypnosis I have a greater love for myself and the people in my life. I am filled with confidence, joy, and a motivation to keep moving forward toward my goals. How can I not share this gift and experience with others?

What to Expect When We Work Together?


Here are the basic steps we will use together to help you acheive your goals:


1) We will meet to discuss your goals, answer any questions about hypnosis or the process, I will ask very specific questions about your goals, hopes, dreams and what you imagine life will be like when your goal is reached.


2) I will write suggestions based on the exact words you used to describe your goals and what you imagine your changed life to be.


3) I will look through scripts related to your goal that have proven successful in sessions and I will choose the best one for you.


4) We will meet in-person if you are local or online if you are not. I will ask you if you would like to take part in a hypnotherapy session if you say yes, I will

  • Guide you slowly into a trance state with beautiful words creating imagery and connecting with your senses.

  • I will do a test to see if you are in a trance state.

  • I will use a hypnosis script that has been designed based on the goals you have for your hypnosis.

  • I will insert your suggestions, so that your unconscious mind recognizes them.

  • I will slowly bring you out of the trance state.


5) I will send you home with an audio recording of the hypnosis so that you can listen to it when you wake up and when you sleep for 42 days (6 weeks).


And that's how it works!
